Minor entering contract/lemon law
My 17 year old son bought a car for $2300, 28days later the clutch went out, cost$570, the shop owner tells us at this time the car needs a new motor, cost $1800 to $2200.
Due to my son being a minor can we require the seller to return my sons money? and or isn't it true that if the repair cost exceed a percentage of the purchase of the car the lemon law does applie?
Re: Minor entering contract/lemon law
The "Lemon Law" only applies to the purchase of new vehicles. It doesn't apply to the purchase of used vehicles.
You are correct that a contract with a minor may be voided by the minor. Your son may have to sue the dealer for return of his money.
