Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

What are my rights?

If my car contract was changed without my knowledge and my signature was forged, what can be done? I have the original contract and the changed contract, which shows all the changes. My complaint is with a corporation and from what I hear it seems some attorneys do not like to handle complaints such as this because big corporations can make the legal matter drag on forever, if this is true should I just give up? I have contacted the office of credit commissioner and they are helping me with other issues relating to this corporation, but they can not help me with the forgery issue. Any advise you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: What are my rights?

There are several potential causes of action depending upon what the changes to the contracts were. You really need to contact an attorney who practices this area of law. If you are in the Dallas area, feel free to contact me. Otherwise, go to the website www.naca.net, go to your jurisdiction, look for someone who handles auto fraud or truth in lending violation cases.

In addition to Ms. Campbell's answer, I suggest you contact the Consumer Fraud Div. of the State's Attorney General's office and file a complaint.
