Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

In 1999 I did a voluntary repossesion of my car. The bank sold the car for less thatn I owed and I was responsible for the balance. In 2000 I got a divorce and the divorce decree states my ex-husband is responsible for any debt aquired during our marriage. Does my signature on the loan which my ex-husband also signed overrule the judges decision?

Divorce does not affect creditor's rights..but it sounds like creditor may have lost its rights if you haven't been sued..call us if you want more info
