Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

This is regarding being billed incorrectly (in our favor) by a local public college. In her senior year of high school, she attended this college for a couple of courses for dual credit. She enrolled as a freshman at this same college. 1st semester paid, came and went. They are now advising they incorrectly billed her under the dual credit guidelines and advise she now owes more than $6,000 for the first semester. Are we obligated to pay for a billing error on their part?

Technically, they aren't limited by how much they billed you for. The only limitation is in the contract that they made with you.

If you agree to pay me $150.00 to landscape your home, and I do the work, and then invoice you for $60.00, and you pay me only $60.00, you still owe me $90.00.

How much did they tell you originally that it would cost? Did you get anything in writing? A letter that said, "Your total out-of-pocket fees will be $2,335.67"?
