Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Can credit card holders put a lien on your home if you cannot pay them or can they flat out take it because of your debt to them? I have some credit card debt and I cannot pay.I was hit by a car and am on disability($679.00 per month).I have no family and I have to live on this money as I'm in no shape to work.I bought the house with a partner and it is almost paid for.I've had a lawyer call me and tell me he was going to take my house if I did not pay up right then.I am so afraid, this is all I have in the world.BTY I've tried to make payments but they were not happy with the amount that I could pay and they still charged late charge and overlimit charges, not to mention the interest.Thank you very much.
