Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

What can debt collection agency do to me?

I owed $6800 to a credit card company that eventually wound up in at an collection agency and arbitration. I didn't understand the process and ignored the notice. Now I have received a letter saying they were awarded $11,400.00. I have no money to pay. What can they do to me?

If you have no assets and no means to pay a settlement amount, then there is nothing you can do. They cannot garnish your wages or take exempt property. With a judgment however, they can reach your bank accounts.
