Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

debtors haven

Why is Texas considered a debtors haven? I was reading through some of the answers on the website and noticed that one attorney had mentioned that. thankx

Because the Texas Constitution specifically lists items and values that are exempt from execution by a creditor. This includes wage garnishment. In the event a debtor does not have excess assets, a civil judgment is often merely suitable for framing. To my knowledge, only IRS and child support can touch a person's wages.
