Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Dept Collection from Adult Child for Living Parent

I am receiving dept collection letters and threats from a nursing home that my father was sent to by his doctor. He was covered by Medicare/Medicaid. He has since been removed from the nursing home and they are billing me for the service. I never signed any forms or aggreements. Am I liable for the charges.

You are not responsible unless you signed something indicating personal liability when your father was checked into the nursing home. If you didn't sign anything, write to them and tell them that you are not responsible for your father's debt and to stop contacting you.
