Payment of monies not covered by insurance
After an operation performed on my wife and after payment by her insurance company, we started making $50.00 per mo. payments to the hospital. After accepting 3 payments, they turned us over to a collection agency. What is my recourse and how will this affect my credit? Thank you.
Re: Payment of monies not covered by insurance
Just keep making the payments.
Hospitals have huge numbers of people in your situation, and the files are routinely routed to a collection agency.
It will be on your credit report as a slow pay. This is common when large medical bills come due. Add a statement to your credit report detailing that the bill was paid timely and fully by a monthly payout arrangement. The blemish is a small one.
