Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Summary hearing Judgement

I Live in Teaxs, and husband being sued for old cr card debt. Sol was to expire in Jan 08, but they sued in Oct 07. They asked for discovery, etc. we sent back. Now we have court date for 03-05-09. What will happen at this hearing what should we take with us. And would will they expect to take from us? They want full amount of orig. debt 10,000. + court, attorney fees & 5% till completely paid. If we had the money we would have paid long time ago. Should we still try to pay something to this collection lawyer before going to court? Should we wait and see what court decides to do? I'am sure they'll want their pound of flesh why else would they go to such extremes. Please help any info would be helpful. Feeling helpless .
