Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

My wife is getting calls from United Litigation. They say that she has 3 payday loans that have been charged off and that if she dont pay United Litigation, they will issue a summons. He then told me that her case number was 155 953. I looked online and could not find anything on that case number. I then called this guy back and he stated it was on hold because she was going to pay him $1,050. Is this a scammer and is it possible that she goes to jail over this?

no jail for debt ...and hope you have address etc of collector...report them as it is a scam even IF she had a payday loan...
