So about 3 months ago i was caught shop lifting alcohol at a super target I am 16 years old, about $21 dollars worth. they apprehended me just outside the automatic doors but still within the green strips of i think a fire zone? or whatever it is. does that still count as being outside the store? cause technically im still on store grounds.. and also I chose to do community service to work off the citation and does it get wiped off my record when i turn 17? also now target called my parents and said they sent a bill to us i guess charging us for im not sure what? they said it was state law and i just have a question on what law is it and maybe some more details on if they are allowed to do that. any help would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Yes, you were past the point of purchase. Nothing autmoatically gets wiped off instead you would have to file a petition for expunction. I would not pay Target since they have no damages since the alcohol was recovered.
