Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I applied to an apartment complex today and they rejected my application based upon an assault charge that was dismissed. Even though it was dismissed they said I could only get approval by presenting a document from the court showing that it was a mistake on the part of the court or that I was not involved. I called my attorney, the court clerk and the district clerk and they all told me it didn't exist, eventually I got the complex to admit that it didn't exist, but that if I got the judge to issue a document saying as much they would take that. My problem is I don't think that any judge would ever issue such a document....I've come to terms with the fact that I won't get this apartment, but I really want to get to the bottom of this since I feel like it's an unfair practice.

I am an Austin Criminal Defense Lawyer, and I am currently preparing to contest the constitutionality of just such a residency restriction in another city.

I would like to speak with you about the specifics of your case so that we can try to keep this unfair system from continuing.
