Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Can a case that was no billed be re-opened. I was assaulted by my now ex-boyfriend. I had a witness ,police report, medical report. The case was no billed. I spoke to the District attorney afterwards and she said that the jury did not believe me on the events that led up to the injury. My ex , I am assuming made up some story and the jury believed him. I was also told that because my ex and I were in a civil matter (custody case) that could be a reason for the verdict also. With all my evidence plus my witness, I do not understand how this could happen. Can this case be re-opened? This case was first labled family violence, then changed to aggravated assault.

Can your case be taken before the grand jury again? yes. The problem is going to be whether the District Attorney's Office will be willing to do so. You will need to talk to the prosecutor you have been dealing with about whether they will be willing to submit your case to the grand jury again.
