Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I completed 180 days of unsupervised deferred adjudication for a Misdeamoner B charge (possession of marijuana) back in 2000. Does that mean my record is clean? If not, can I get it expunged? I'm concerned about going back to school to get my nursing license. I'm afraid this will be an obstacle when trying to get my license.

No, your record is not clean. Your record would indicate that you were arrested, and the charges were dismissed for successful completion of deferred. You are not eligible for an expunction, however, you should be able to get an Order of Nondisclosure. The Order will seal the record from the general public, but it would still be visible to law enforcement and numerous government agencies. It is probably still visible to the Nursing board. It does not however, automatically disqualify you -- contact the board for their policies.
