Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

My daughter was in a confrontation against another girl. My husband jumped in front of them with his hands up just to stop her from hitting my daughter. The girl is saying that my husband hit her and now her mom is trying to press charges against him.

I would immediately retain a criminal attorney.

Your husband should not talk to anyone before talking to an attorney.

He should not try to "explain" to anyone what he was doing.

If arrested, he MUST remain silent.

He should NOT try to explain his actions or inactions.

It will be used against him!

If he put up his hands, then he might have accidentally "hit" her.

I was not there so I cannot give him legal advice.

I do not practice criminal law.

He desperately needs legal advice. This is a minor and he does not want to be convicted of injury to a child.

Look on this site, www.avvo.com and the State Bar of Texas website for a criminal lawyer.
