Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

defferred adjudication

Will a past 2nd felony in which I received deferred adjudication keep me out of law school, and later the state bar?

Thanks.

Re: defferred adjudication

No one other than the State Bar can answer that. However, one major factor will be how long ago you comitted that felony. Specifically, was it something that happened when you were younger or was it more recent. Make sure that you disclose this on your bar application. When I entered law school, the question on the bar application was whether you have ever been arrested. If law school asks if you have ever been arrested then disclose it also. The worse thing you can do is to not disclose it. I wish you well.
