Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Expundge an arrest record

While in college my son was arrested for burgery of a habitat. This involved many of the schools football team and he only acted as the look out. He was not a member of the football team. The players who went in took a playstation and some CDs. It was reduced to criminal transpass and he is on probation. He has had two job offers from schools to be a coach and a history teacher. Both schools have not hired him because of his arrest record. The second school said they would hire him if he could get it changed. Is there anything that can be done quickly to get this changed?

Re: Expundge an arrest record

He cannot get the record expunged. If he was on probation, then it is a conviction.

Depending upon how old the case is, and his record since then, he may be able to get his record sealed.

Re: Expunge an arrest record

If his probation was or is a deferred probation he may seal his record, he will not be able to erase his record. Once it has been one year form the completion of his deferred probation then he may seal the record from some potential employers.
