Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I don't have any felonies, but I do have a lengthy list of misdemeanors. two DWI's, driving while license suspended, theft by check, and acouple of possession of marijuana lessd than 2 0z. I have changed my lifestyle and went back to school to try and make a better life for myself than the mess I had made before. I have obtained many technical certifications and am now trying to find a job. Unfortunately, these charges keep popping up and disqualifing me from several jobs. My last charge was in 2004, so my question is, what can I do, if anything, to get these charges expunged and off of my record so that I can move forward with my life instead of being stuck in this vicious cylce keeping me from work.

To get the records of a particular charge expunged, the charge would have to have been dismissed or you would have to have been found not guilty. You could be eligible to seal any of those charges that you received deferred adjudication for, so long as you successfully completed the deferred probation. However, if you received a final conviction on any charge (did jail time or a regular probation), then these charges are on your record for the rest of your life. Your only chance of relief would be to get a pardon, but that is a long-shot, especially given your long misdemeanor record.
