Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Felony injury to a child
My son spanked a girlfriends son (no witnesses) and CPS has filed felony injury to a child charges based on info from childs father. This is his first offense, child and mother have disappeared since. He was arrested and released on bond but has never been indicted. How long can this indictment be hanging over our heads? We hired lawyer but we can't even get him to return our calls. Son wants to join service but can't with this unresolved.
