Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Lawyer needed?

I accidentally discharged one of my firearms in my apartment. The bullet went through the floor into the downstairs apartment. Nobody was injured, but the cops said something about possible deadly conduct, or just shooting a firearm in the city limits. My question is, when I get to court, do I need a lawyer or can I handle this by myself to save money? Thank you.

Re: Lawyer needed?

Deadly conduct is either a Class A misdomeanor punishible by up to 1 year in jail and / or a fine of $4,000.00. It can also be a 3rd degree Felony with a fine of up to $10,000.00 and 2-10 years in jail. After knowing this, do you still want to try to handle it yourself? If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, give me a call or send me an email.
