Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Recently I was having a party at my house and the cops showed up. They came into the house and found drug paraphernalia and I was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (an empty pipe and an empty bag of synthetic marijuana that was purchased from a convenient store ). I have entered a plea of not guilty because though it was in my house on the table neither of the two things were mine. They had been taken out by a guest and not put back up when the cops showed up. If my friend comes forward and says the stuff was his could the charges possibly dropped on me and will he be charged with the crime after-the-fact? I'm afraid that with the fear that he'll be charged will keep him from coming forward.

You need to hire a lawyer. You are asking questions about whether someone should commit the felony of perjury to cover you. The stuff is yours and you possessed it if you had it had the house but there is a chance, that even without getting others to commit crimes by lying, you can win the case because it will be difficult for the State to prove that YOU as opposed to anyone else in the house at the time possessed the stuff.
