Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

A Need or not for a Search Warrant.

My friend was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. When she was asked if her car could be searched, the cop code unit backed off. A few minutes later the city police came up and said that they did not need a warrant for a search so they took her in the back of a gas station store to strip search her. One of the cops came into the store and instructed the person doing the strip search to stop because they had found what they were looking for. They took her from eyesight of her vehicle and she could not see what was going on. Is this correct, and if not what can be done?

She might desire to file a motion to suppress. If she had no warrants out for her arrest it would help. She will need a lawyer.
