Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Sold beer to minor

By mistake, i've sold beer to a minor sent by a cop. Now the problem is that I'm a software engineer and was going through time of unemployment and this thing happend with me in that time. I've a pending warrant for which 1000$ of bail amount has been set which I'm gonna pay in a two days. After a talk with the cop, I figured out that I'll get a court date which could be after 3-4 months. And when I asked him to refer me for mercy or less penalty, he told me that I can ask the judge for deferred prosecution. I've no priors and my history is totally clean, not even a single traffic citation. I'm really worried about my career as an Software Engineer as things are looking up in market and I am also in final talk with one software company. Now if the judge is going to fine me up and put me on probation then it'll be really tough for me handle background check by the company. So what do you suggest to get through this situation without putting this new job and my career in danger?

Thanks

Re: Sold beer to minor

I suggest you find you a criminal attorney, not necessarily the cheapest either. You need someone that knows what they are doing. And quit talking to the police officer. I asure you he is not there to help you, contrary to what you may think or you have been told.

Good Luck.

I would immediately hire a competent criminal lawyer. There are a number of creative solutions to your problem, but most of them will not be explored with you by the prosecution unless you are represented by counsel.
