Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Time Served Holding for Another County

My Son was arrested on 3 misdemeanor tickets he failed to appear in court on. He was in jail 3mo. and was given time served last week. He had lost his business and had a felony check in another county, and one in another state. While he was in jail his home was foreclosed on and we had to move his things out.He said he didn't go to court on the tickets because he had no money. He wrote the checks while in business and had no intention of theft. He wants to get this behind him and do what he needs to do. He is on hold for the 2 checks. I have been told if his Att. doesn't get bond set before 10 days, the other County will pick him up. His Att.(dragging his feet) hasn't called to see about bond in the other county. MY QUESTION: CAN I CALL that county's Official and see about paying bond before he is transferred to that county? I have already talked to the other states bondsman, because we had already pd. bond there before he was picked up. He's just sitting in this county's jail waiting. WHAT CAN I DO, since I can't get his Att. to do something? He put off his first court date and lied to me everytime I called him.

Re: Time Served Holding for Another County

Yes, you can arrange bond for him. You can either call the court and find out the bond amount and pay it or you can go through a bondsman and they can take care of it.
