Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I have a warrant for my arrest. I have a class 3 felony, it was bumped up from a missdemenor, i think when i didn't show up for court. i was scared and didn't know what to do. My fience got arrested. he has the same charge plus a missdemenor. the warrants in texas. i want to help him, and me. I don't think i can do that from jail. i know i need a lawer. My questions are can i make court arrangments and get my warrent droped? if i tried to visit him would i get arrested? What is my best approch?

If you try to visit him, you will likely be arrested. The officers will check your background and find the warrant. Your best approach is to hire a lawyer and make a bond. They will not drop the warrant unless is gets VERY old or they catch you oryou make bond.

(They do not make misdemeanors into felonies because you didn't show for court. They could file bond jumping charges in addition to your original charges, though.)
