Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

i was booked into jail for dwi but i was booked under my old married name of cannon i repeatedly told officers my last name was james. when released i was told if i did not sign cannon rather than legal name james they would throw me back in the cell. will i get into trouble for falsisfying documents by signing cannon

no. While I do not agree with what the officers stated in regard to throwing you back in jail if you used your legal name, it is common for people to be booked under alias names. Maybe you had not changed your info on your license or something. Either way, people who are charged with offenses routinely have different names associated with them as aliases.

I would not worry about falsifying any documents.
