Legal Question in Elder Law in Texas

estate dispute

i have 1 sister, (who's my father's poa & executrix) & 2 half sisters who are my mom's not my dad's. mom died may'06, half brother died july'06. my sister & I share total care of our 87 y/o father. since our mom's death, our half sisters are arguing over our dad's personal property, to the point where they're not speaking to us or dad. parent's joint ''will'' stated estate goes to surviving spouse then when that spouse dies, split equal with 5 kids. when brother died, 2 half sisters took dad to lawyer to change ''will'' to include only 4 kids, eliminating my brother's wife & kids. my dad's mind is good but short term memory is very bad for past 2 yrs. he's given by word of mouth to my sister & myself: 2 vehicles, tractor, trailer & 2 cemetary plots. my ? is, do i need to get him to put that in writing, notarized? dad's said he doesn't want a lawyer, that the items belong to him and he can do what he wants with them. we have consulted 2 lawyers & one says that dad's statement is correct, but the other says the half sisters could contest. my father also said that he does not want 1 half sister's husband to end up with any of his money, is it possible for him to specify that, without a lawyer involved?
