Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

On 2/2012 wife filed for divorce. We have no children and no property. we came up with a agreement and on 2/2013 we both sign the agreement at her lawyers office. Wife will not let her lawyer file paperwork with the court. How can I get this issue finalized?

File the signed memo with the District Clerk's office as a Rule 11 Agreement. Once the agreement is filed, draft a final decree of divorce that closely adheres to the terms of the Rule 11 Agreement. File a Motion to Sign Final Decree of Divorce attaching your proposed final decree of divorce to the motion and get it set for a hearing. Send a copy of your motion and a notice of the hearing to your wife's attorney. Show up on the day of the hearing and be prepared to explain to the judge that you entered into a Rule 11 Agreement and that you now want the court to grant a judgment of divorce based on the Rule 11 Agreement.

You should have your own attorney to do this. At least let an attorney do the paperwork for you.

Good luck!!
