Where is the bio. father? Normally the bio. father would be #2 if the mother were to die.

Most young people's relationships don't last - gay or straight. Stay a strong part of your daughter and your grand-daughter's lives. Grandparents don't have many rights in the State of Texas. The legislature is meeting right now & they might add some new laws effective 9/1/2013. So keep your eyes & ears open. However, your contact in your grand-daughter's life is essential so that she knows you and has a relationship with you. The court always looks at the "best interests" of the child.

I suggest that you look around for an attorney to talk to regarding this matter. Look on this site and on www.avvo.com. I don't know your county. If you email me direct, [email protected], I will try to give you some leads if I know anyone in your county.

Remember, your daughter is in control. So be nice to her & keep seeing your grand-daughter.
