Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a 15 year old friend who lives in Washington. She wants to live with her mother now, because she misses her. She asks me, knowing i want to be a criminal lawyer, what should she do. I have no clue at all. I mean it isn't because one parent is mean and abusive it is just because she misses her mom. What should i tell her?
