Adoption

My daughter is 5 years old. I got married when she was 3. My husband is wanting to adopt her. On her birth certificate there is no father named. How can we go about doing this?

Hire a family lawyer to handle this, so it is done correctly. No father on the birth certificate is not the same as no father. Even unknown fathers have to have their rights terminated before a stepparent adoption can take place.
