Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

assets when married

My husband and I have been married 7 years. I had a home that I turned in to a rent home when we married. If I sell the home now, will he get half of the profits?

Re: assets when married

Based on what you have stated, whether or not your husband would get the profits will depend on whether or not you co-mingled the asset (i.e., the house). The income earned from the house rent should be considered community property, but as for the actual house, without more information, it is difficult to say one way or the other. If my law firm can assist you with this or any other legal matter, please contact my paralegal, Stephanie, at [email protected]
