Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My boyfriend pays child support on two children from his past relationships. We live in Texas, if I marry him will I then have to pay child support too?

Child support is based solely on his assets.

If he does not pay then he goes to jail. Many second wives pay the child support to keep their husband out of jail.

But...if you co-mingle anything (taxes, joint bank accounts, buy a house, etc.) then your income and all your financial information is discoverable if she files a modification.

I would talk to an attorney in your county before marrying so you understand what you are getting into.
