child name change
I have a child from a previous married and am wanting to change his name to my new married name. Is it possible to do that without his father's consent?

No. You will need to have an order entered in the divorce case - it is a form of modification of the prior order. When you initiate any proceeding that effects the child, the other parent must be notified of it.
