Child custody

I live in the state of Texas. i would like to know at what age my daughter has to be in order to chose which parent to live with. My daughter turns 12 in May.

Re: Child custody

A minor can never decide with whom he/she wants to live. At age 12 a child may inform the court of a choice for managing conservator, but the court is not bound by the choice. Depending on circumstances, the court may not even give it much weight. A child will reside where the court decides will be in the child's best interest.
