Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child support ammendments

My Ex Wife is trying to get a child support increase after our son has turned 17 and has been diagnosed bi-polar and has been putting her and I thru hell, Apparently she decided that she needed an increase after our son decided he wanted to live with me. I have always paid my support and feel now he should come live with me since he has already been with her for 17 yrs and I see he has not grown to be a upstanding citizen but only a mental basket case, can I appeal her increase and obtain custody this far into the game? Do I need an attorney since we have joint custody and he is 17?

If you know how to prepare and present your case, then you don't need an attorney. If you don't know how to do this job, I suggest you hire an attorney if you want to have some opportunity at success. May well be that you could get custody now and child support for the next 17 years because of his condition.
