Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support Hearing

I am attending a hearing on the 8th of December for child support. The other parent has been gone for 3 years now. My youngest child with her will be 4 in jan. Would it be a unreasonable to ask for her rights to terminated since she abonded her for so long, and if not, what would visitation be like for her when she lives in Michigan. Could I set it up for her to visit her down here in texas because my daughter does not know her. Can the attorney general even terminate rights, or how would I go about that. also, should i hire an attorney to be present since my own mom said she is going to testify against me for kkeping the kids from her. you can read more on that in my other question ''keeping the children from te other parent''.

thank you for your time and response.

Re: Child Support Hearing

The TX A G does not represent you or your child.

I'd hire an attorney to modify visitation. Since the mother does not see the child often, it is reasonable to have a non-standard possession order.

Good luck!

Re: Child Support Hearing

I would not go to that hearing without an attorney! The AG does not represent you or the mother. You can restrict the possession until the child adjusts to it's mother.
