Under the Texas Guidelines for Child Support I can only give an approximation. The Multiple Family Adjusted Guidelines provide that you should pay 14.75% of your net monthly resources as support for the one child. The trick is figuring "net monthly resources", which is a defined term under the Family Code. Assuming you carry insurance for the kids (all 4) and the cost of insurance for the one child is $50/month, your net monthly resources are $2,104.30 which puts your child support at $310.38. Remember, this is only a very broad approximation. There are programs available on the web, including one on the Attorney General website, that might help.

I almost agree with Attorney Henderson.

I just purchased the TX Child Support Calculator for my I-phone so I got to practice using it.

You did not include your insurance amount for the child so I did not include it.

My monthly child support calculation was $338 approximately.

That is a ball-park figure based on the information you provided.

The I-phone calculator does not give all the details that Attorney Henderson provided. It just gives the basics. But it's fairly accurate and it's easy.

I also agree with everything he said. Go the TX A G website.

I highly recommend hiring an attorney. I just did a mediation yesterday where the man did not have an attorney & the TX A G made a mistake and he had been paying 5% too much in his child support every month for 2 years. The man did not know the law and just signed. He's out of luck and his ex lucked out for 2 years - she got $125 of extra child support. He cannot get a refund for the overpayment.

Moral of this story - hire an attorney!!
