Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support

I have been served with divorce papers.Have 3 children age 5.

Currently we live off a large sum of money obtained as a settlement.

I am currently unemployed but the

average income for my profession is $120,000/yr. My question: When deciding child support, is the court

likely to stick to the caps, that is 30% of $7500/mo or will it award 30% of $120,000 divided by 12?

Thank you.

Re: Child Support

I think the court will be interested in making sure the children continue to live at the level they currently enjoy, which may involve looking outside the caps if there is a basis for doing so.
