Only a judge can change a child's last name.

It is a legal proceeding.

It is up to the judge.

Some judges just won't do it.

I don't know what county you live in so I don't know what the judge will do in your county.

You need to talk to an attorney in your county that knows the judge in your county.

Good luck.

Look on this website and on www.avvo.com for an attorney in your area that knows the judge and what he/she would do. Otherwise, don't waste your time and money.

FYI: Please don't buy a kit & try to do it yourself! The kits sold on the internet by out-of-state companies do comply with TX laws & judges hate them!
