Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My child's mother has hired an attorney and filed to take away my visitation rights.

I've done nothing to warrant this action. I can't afford an attorney and have been

denies assistance from legal aid. I will have to represent myself. Can I ask or have

someone I trust sit with me to offer advice in court even if they don't have a law degree?

Mother and myself are only 19 we were 17 when we had our child.

You can get legal advice anywhere you want to. However, most courts won't allow a non-lawyer to "cross the rail" and sit with you at counsel table, or stand with you in front of the Judge during a hearing.
