How can I get a copy of my divorce papers, if I do not know where it was filed by my husband?

You can call the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Austin and attempt to determine if there was a divorce granted in Texas. For the past several years all divorces finalized in Texas includes submitting a BVS Form to Austin, Texas - specially for the situation you describe.

If you get this information, then you go to the courthouse and get a certified copy of the Final Decree of Divorce - usually $1 per page - cash or credit card - no personal checks.
