Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

court ordered insurance

My husband and I divorced 3 years ago in Octocber. He has since moved to Las Vegas. He has insurance on her according to the court papers, but the Las Vegas insurance is pointless to her since we live in TX. I have repeatedly asked him to find something suitable that she can use. He says it’s not his problem because he is doing all that the court papers says. I want to get CHIPS on her. CHIPS will not accept her since she has other coverage. He refuses to remove her from his insurance and/or find other insurance. What recourse do I have for this situation?

Re: court ordered insurance

You may very well have a motion to enforce situation since he really isn't providing insurance. At the very least, he should be on the hook for at least half of what is not covered by insurance.

You may need to just file a motion to modify and ask the court to allow you to get coverage and order him to just pay additional support for your cost of carrying it.
