My daughter wants to come live with me. My ex-wife has primary custody of her. She is 15. How should I go about this?

Re: Custody

Your daughter needs to sign a "Preference" indicating that she wants to live with you, and then you will have to have the current Order modified so that you are the one who has the right to determine where your daughter lives. How simple or difficult this is will depends a great deal on whether your ex will agree to the change or not. Go see a family law attorney.

Re: Custody

Generally, you will need to file a modification of the current parent-child relationship petition. Additionally, you will need to attach your daughter's designation of who she wants to live with. If your ex-wife is agreeable to this, then these modifications typically go smooth. If my law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
