Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a daughter with my ex-boyfriend. We just recently decided to part ways. I want to take her to Chicago for a vacation to see my family and he is telling me I cannot take her with out his permission. Do I really need his permission to leave the state for a vacation?

NO! You don't need his permission for anything. He has no legal rights to the child until he "mans up" and has his paternity legally established (which will result in an order for him to pay child support every month).

You can take her to Ohio, France, or the Philippines, and you don't even have to tell him. You can move to Florida and you aren't even required to give him your address.
