Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I really doubt that the school would be willing to issue her a diploma in any name other than her legal name at the time of graduation. If she actually wants to change her name legally, there is a procedure for doing that, but it's not something where she could just change it for graduation purposes and then change it back a few months later. There needs to be some logical reason for doing it and the change is expected to be a perment one. Plus, besides school district policies, it would just be a mess for her to have to deal with explaining and documenting later on. I myself own some property in my maiden name, since I bought it before getting married. Usually it's not an issue, but I had one round with I think the Tax Assesor's Office a few years ago where they kept asking me to produce my marriage license, because they weren't comfortable I was the real property owner! So apparently they thought that my maiden name self should have deeded the property over to my married name self?! Really, name changes are something to be avoided if possible. Also, the legal procedure in place for dealing with that changes when you turn 18, so if she's around there and you've looked into it, be aware of that.
