Can a person legally disabled on a fixed income be forced to pay child support?

Short Answer - Yes.

Child support in Texas is calculated based on "Net Resources" - Section 154.062, Texas Family Code.

That section includes, among other items, social security benefits, workers' compensation benefits, severance pay, etc.

However, under section 154.123, the court can consider additional factors in setting the child support amount.
