Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce

I am going through a divorce and hired a pay as we go attorney...already put in $700. I can't get my attorney to call back or when she does her answer is always ''she is waiting on husband's attorney. '' I hired her first of Feb this year. Since then my husband has been harrassing, threatening and has even had deadly conduct charges filed on him...there are two children involved as well. As far as assets we have NONE... house was rental! I just want this over...what can I do to get my current attorney moving???

Re: Divorce

There may be more here than is readily apparent. What is your husband's attorney supposed to be providing? Are you ready to go to trial? If this is contested on issues of property, 401K, children; your attorney may not be prepared to set it for trial, based upon only $700 in fees paid.

You always have the option to get a new attorney; when you attend a consultation, take all of the file with you, so that you can get a true estimate of what work remains to be done, at what cost.
