Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

divorce

my husband has been in jail our entire marrige of 7years with no kids and no assest. And he is still in jail. I paid for the divorce papers so i don't need an attorney but I have to pay court fees. Is there a way to go about this without paying the fees?

Re: divorce

You can file a document called a "PAUPER'S AFFIDAVIT" and perhaps the Judge will waive the filing fee.

Anyone that files a lawsuit has to pay a filing fee.

Why? Because it costs money to run a courthouse and staff it.

Good luck!
